Hey! How are you? Let's talk. 

I'm Taylor, the cook behind this blog. I previously ran an iteration of Spoontang Kitchen from 2014 to 2017, which chronicled my experiences with attending culinary school and learning to cook and bake professionally. Since I left the industry at the end of 2017, I'm here to bring you food without the frills. You don't need 17 knives. You don't need a sous vide machine. And you don't need (or probably want) seven paragraphs about the time I skinned my knee before a potato salad recipe. 

My personal stats? I graduated from the Institute of Culinary Education in 2015 with a certificate in Culinary Arts. After graduating, I've worked at a handful of places, including in corporate catering and for both Dirt Candy and Momofuku Milk Bar.

When not baking, I'm probably found poking cats, saying something I'll regret, or watching Re-Animator.  I live in New York City with my husband and two cats.
